OVERVIEW OF UGANDA GORILLA AND WILDLIFE SAFARI TOURS

Uganda safaris tours Range from the Uganda gorilla trekking safari activity in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park to the extensive wildlife safari activity in the destinations of Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley National Parks, safaris and tours in Uganda are very rewarding and beyond the ordinary.
Uganda unlike other countries where mountain gorillas are found features a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas in her single habitat – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while her second refigium – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is part of the greater Virunga Trans boundary Collaboration that feature 480 mountain gorillas. This shows that Uganda has the highest number of mountain gorillas that are critically endangered world over and known to live in only three (2) countries on global scale.
Besides gorillas, Uganda features extensive savannah landscapes some of which have been gazetted to protect the lives of a myriad of wild game. Whether one considers Kidepo National Park to the north east of Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park or Lake Mburo National Park, he / she is assured of rewarding Uganda wildlife safari experience.

The adventure encounters in either Rwenzori, Elgon and the Volcanoes, recreation in myriad of water bodies including River Nile, Lake Victoria, Lake Bunyonyi and Kazinga Channel and primate viewing in Kibale, Semuliki, Budongo and Kalinzu forests combine to make safaris and tours in Uganda worthwhile.
The range of 65 tribal groups that thrive with their profound traditions, norms, values, festivals and practices, way of life and general heritage give an opening to the Africa’s past presenting remarkable cultural tours in Uganda. Whether one talks of the ancient Kingdom of Buganda with its royal regalia and Kasubi tombs – royal burial grounds and now a UNESCO world heritage site, the Imbalu circumcision among the Bagisu, the nomadic culture of the Karimojong, gather cultures of indigenous tribes like Batwa and Indigenous Karimojong, the name giving ceremony among the Batooro and the Ankole long horned cattle among the Banyankole pastoralists or the heritage of the mystical Bachwezi people, Uganda is indeed historical, diverse and a typical gateway to Africa’s past.
The Uganda Safaris tours can range from day excursions to compressive packages that can last over 20 days of a range of the medium length. However, kindly note that even these proposed packages can be customized to fit in ones interests.
